Frequently Asked Questions

What is the training and accreditation of the staff?

Our educators and staff are hired in compliance with the state requirements and qualifications as a base minimum. Typical staff certifications include an Associate Degree, BA, BS, or Masters in Early Childhood Education, a Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate, and CPR and first aid training.

How much does the daycare cost and how is it paid?

Tuition is determined on a full-time basis and differs by age. Parents of children in the Lambs and Turtles classes will pay a $266.00 per week rate. Parents of children in the Ducks, Bunnies, Tigers, Frogs, Zebras, Ark, Bears, and Lions classes will pay a $232.00 per week rate.

Families can pay by cash, check, credit card (Mastercard or Visa), TN Families First State Assistance, and automatic electronic funds transfer for your convenience.

Parents contract for a specific weekly schedule during enrollment; payment for this contracted schedule is required every week year-round whether your child attends. 10 free days are given September 1st — August 31st after enrolled for 3 months. Free days can be used for vacation, sick days, closed CDC Staff In-Service Day, and holidays; except CDC Closed days for Christmas break.

What supplies should parents provide for their child?

Infants: enough clean bottles for a day’s use, at least 6 diapers and wipes per day, and at least 2 changes of clothes per day (clothes labeled with first and last name). All bottles must be labeled - first and last name and dated.

Toddlers: six diapers, wipes, and at least 2 changes of clothes per day.

Older Toddlers: at least 2 changes of clothes - more if going through the toilet training program.

Preschoolers: at least one change of clothes, socks and shoes.

We request that you do not allow your child to bring toys from home into the center unless they are part of a show-and-tell activity.

Does the daycare provide food for children, or do parents need to provide their own?

The CDC will serve 3 meals per day — breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack — except Thursday Lunch (picnic day, bring a lunch box from home).

Food prepared for the center will be properly planned, prepared, and portioned according to the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the state requirements for food service. Weekly menus are posted for viewing by parents/caregivers.

How many hours can a child stay at the daycare?

Our hours of operation are 7:00am-5:30pm Monday through Friday. Children shall not be in care of over 10 hours per day.
